During the development process, qapasity evaluated a wide range of possible designs, battery technologies, cell technologies and components to create a product that meets our high standards. What makes us unique is our transparency regarding our products. We provide detailed insights into the components used, the system design, and the reasoning behind our design choices.
In addition to transparency about components, qapasity will also make test protocols, certifications, and other related information available for download on our website. This is to ensure that you, as an owner of a qapasity battery, feel confident in your investment, and that you, as an installer, know exactly what you’re getting. We believe it should be just as natural as reading the ingredient list on food you buy. Naturally, you should be able to see exactly what your energy storage system is made of.
Battery Cells
The battery cells in qapasity’s Arctic Series come from Qingtao (Kunshan) Energy Development Group Co., Ltd. Qingtao is a world leader in large-scale production of semi-solid state battery cells and holds over 1,300 patents. Over the years, Qingtao Energy has received strategic investments from institutions such as SAIC, BAIC, GAC, Bank of China Investment, and Shanghai Sci-Tech Innovation to drive further development and innovation. The manufacturing process is both highly advanced and fully automated. Qingtao’s extensive experience in semi-solid state technology and its production processes was crucial in selecting them as qapasity’s cell supplier.
Electrical Components
For the electrical components in qapasity’s products, we have chosen manufacturers of the highest quality who already supply other world-leading battery producers and OEMs. Our supplier for BMS units is Shenzhen Tian-Power Technology Co., Ltd. The qapasity products include a master BMS unit located in the power module and slave BMS units in each battery module. Each BMS is equipped with temperature and voltage sensors to monitor every battery module individually. For example, the qapasity Arctic Series 10.84kWh system (2 modules) contains a total of 3 BMS units: one slave unit in each battery module and one master unit in the power module (HV Control Box).
For smaller components, we have selected manufacturers known for delivering the highest possible quality. These manufacturers are global leaders in their respective technologies. Examples of suppliers for smaller electrical components and connectors include:
